Valencia M Covington, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a native of Chicago, Illinois “The Windy City”. She has 24+ years of nursing experience. She is currently working in the mental health realm. She is a board-certified family and mental health provider for adolescents, adults, and seniors in the outpatient and inpatient populations. She graduated from Walden & Liberty University which emphasizes Christian values, which she proudly utilizes in everyday practice and daily life. Valencia is the owner and founder of Exceptional Mental Health & Wellness, which opened for business in 2022. We are currently providing telehealth and in-person visits. Mrs. Valencia uses a holistic approach and evidence-based practice modalities centered around patient goals and wishes. Treatment options include but are not limited to medication and non-medication approaches. Mrs.Covington is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. She is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP).
